Congratulations to the Hotel, Culinary Arts and Tourism Department on their achievement at the Irish Hospitality Institute Awards on Thursday night last in Dublin.
Mary Rose Stafford was elected to the IHI College of Fellows in recognition for her outstanding contribution to the sector at a regional and national level.
Michael Crossan was awarded the Hospitality Lecturer of the Year. The award was bestowed following an intensive interview process where he demonstrated his teaching effectiveness through his ability to promote, inspire and sustain intellectual development of students.
Ian Madden, a Trainee Manager from the Radisson Cork and a graduate of the ITT's BA in Hotel Management was awarded Hospitality Graduate of the Year 2016.
The award ceremony was attended by over 500 people from the hospitality industry and many of IHI's past Presidents. The awards were presented by Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Mr. Patrick O'Donovan.
This is an outstanding achievement for the Institute and in the particular the Hotel, Culinary Arts & Tourism Department. The awards are testament to the dedication and pioneering work of the Department’s management, staff and students. These achievements further enhance IT Tralee as a Centre of Excellence for the tourism and hospitality sector.
